FAQ: Liability

(See policy for specific limitations)

What is an excess liability policy?
An additional level of asset protection beyond the maximum amount offered in your homeowner policy and specific to your homes location (unlike an Umbrella Policy).

What is an umbrella policy?
Personal excess liability policies provide you an additional level of asset protection beyond the coverage offered by your automobile and homeowner policies.

What is a comprehensive liability policy?
A Comprehensive Liability policy provides full liability coverage. There is no requirement for liability coverage from another policy.

As a landlord, do I need extra liability insurance?
Yes. Consider purchasing a Liability Umbrella policy since you never know what might happen on property you own that is rented to others. Also, owners sometimes require their tenants to have liability coverage prior to moving in.
